Gong does some mainland maiming

Try saying that one ten times fast. Trips my tongue up more than a cubanelle pepper.

Gong Li conducted a video interview for the South China Morning Post recently in which she discussed her living situation in Beijing, the differences between her Chinese and American fans, and her plans for the future. Most importantly, she seems to have a thing against films produced in mainland China, calling them repetitive and violent. She then goes on to cite the recent "Miami Vice" adaptation as an example of that "Hollywood difference." I don't know if I've seen enough mainland Chinese films to comment but Vice sure was repetitive and violent. That I can vouch for.

I can also vouch for her looking as beautiful and elegant as ever. Check it out:

Iron Chef wardrobe face off!

It's time once again to play a little game I like to call "Iron Chef Wardrobe Face Off!" in which I pit two celebrities who are wearing similar outfits against one another. Then I let you, my loyal readers, decide who wears it better. Something tells me this episode may be rigged though because our beloved Li is involved.

Joan Chen. Gong Li. Green dress face off! Goooooooooo!!

A little background. Joan wore her little ensemble to the 64th annual Venice Film Festival. That's Italy, not Florida. Gong Li came back strong at the Cannes Film Festival. That's France, not a, um, nickname for Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Leave comments and vote! Who will be crowned Iron Chef Wardrobe Wearer?!
